1. Vern and I were in Army Basic Training at Ft.Bragg together July-September 1969. Same company and platoon. He and I were good buddies then, but as with a lot of veterans, we lost track of each other after basic training until our NHS 50th class reunion. He was a really good guy. So sorry to find out he has left us. Kathy and Mary became good friends and came down on the weekends when we were allowed to have Sunday visitors on base.
